There is a growing pressure for businesses to engage in sustainable practices. Consumer attitude, NGO oversight, government regulations and shareholder expectation of the social and environmental impact of company supply chains are shifting at varying speeds around the world. But these expectations go beyond traditional business boundaries into the supply chain. To explore these issues, Dr. Alexis Bateman founded the MIT Responsible Supply Chain lab. The lab is built on almost ten years of research on sustainable supply chains at the center.
